Intensive Outpatient Program:
Our Intensive Outpatient program is a nine-week, ten-hour per week program,
which provides recovery support to persons affected by HIV and AIDS. (3-hour
group sessions three times and one hour of individual counseling.) Our program
is based on the Twelve Steps. A client may choose to join one of three groups,
which each meet three times per week.
In addition to the group times, clients also receive one-hour individual
counseling sessions per week, to work specifically on personal issues.
Supportive Outpatient Program:
• A nine-week program that provides group and individual counseling regarding relapse
prevention planning, education, and life skills development. Schedules can be individually
tailored to meet the clients' needs.
• Relapse Prevention Planning - Helps clients develop the resources needed to remain sober.
• Recovery Education - Gives the clients information on the effects of drugs and
alcohol on HIV and AIDS.
• Life Skills Development - Helps the client develop skills which will help him or her to live
a successful, sober life.
Individual Counseling:
One-on-one counseling helps people living with HIV cope with its impact on their
lives and covers a wide range of mental health issues and concerns which affect
the client's psychological well-being and emotional health.
Legacy offers individual counseling time to its program members, and can be
scheduled at any time by the client. Legacy also offers bilingual counselors
as a part of the Minority Outreach Program. Bi-lingual counselors are available.
